Getting the Most Out of Your Sauna

Category: Sauna & Steam

There is no doubt that you are going to thoroughly enjoy your sauna. Here are a few tips for you to get the most out of your sauna use.

If you wear glasses or contact lenses, you may want to remove these and put them in a safe place prior to using the sauna. The warmth of the sauna can cause your glasses to steam up or could possibly affect your contact lenses.

If you have different types of seating in your sauna, you may want to choose which seat you want to use to get the best result for your particular needs. For example, with some saunas, sitting on the top seat allows you to get more heat.

Most people find that they don‘t like to eat or drink before a sauna. They find that carbonated drinks in particular are not good prior to the sauna session.

Try to follow the manufacturer’s directions for the proper use of your sauna and how it performs at its best. Every sauna is different, so try not to adjust the setting based on what other people are telling you if they have a different sauna.

Most people enjoy taking a shower immediately following the sauna. This allows you to remove all the perspiration that has built up from the heat. It also adds to the refreshing and relaxing feeling that you have just experienced from your sauna use.

Try to set a routine for your sauna sessions. At first it may be a novelty to you, but once you begin to realize how many benefits there are, you will certainly begin to look forward to each sauna session.
